ILNA: A senior lawmaker said Sunday that the Parliament disagrees that Iran’s nuclear energy program be rolled back, but will continue to support the negotiating team until a final nuclear deal is clinched with world powers.

Nasser Mousavi Largani made the statement in an exclusive interview with Monday’s edition of ’Iran Daily’, adding that “as long as the nuclear negotiating team intends to continue talks and Iran’s rights to peaceful nuclear energy are respected, the Parliament will support them. ”

The MP warned the West not to make mistakes in its calculations, saying that Iran made concessions only to prove that it is not after using nuclear energy for military purposes or developing nukes.

Largani noted that the Parliament will support nuclear talks only if Iran is given the right to enrich uranium up to the level that meets its needs for peaceful purposes.

He added that nuclear talks did have positive effects on the economy but it would be exaggerated to say that they transformed the country economically.

“Only a final deal that is based on a win - win agreement will have considerable effects on the country’s economy, ” the parliamentarian pointed out.

Largani said the nation expected to see remarkable impacts on the economy soon after nuclear negotiations kicked off, but this did not happen due to the West’s excessive demands.

The lawmaker touched on a motion by the Parliament that would give a green light to enrich uranium to ۶۰ percent purity if the US Congress imposes new sanctions on Iran and said MPs have raised the issue in response to a stance by American Congressmen that consider nuclear talks as pointless.

“If nuclear talks will not produce any result after almost two years that Iran suspended part of its nuclear activities and limited itself to five - percent enrichment, the country will fully resume its nuclear program and put ۶۰ - percent enrichment on the agenda, ” he said.

Largani added that the Leader of Islamic Resolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has fully backed Iran’s negotiators and as long as he continues to do so and the negotiators have not crossed redlines, the Parliament is obliged to support them and not throw a wrench in their work.

The lawmaker said Iran and the P۵ + ۱(the US, Britain, France, Russia and China, plus Germany) have so far failed to agree on details because the West seeks to drastically curb Iran’s nuclear drive.

“The West does not want Iran to have a nuclear program and wants Iran to be dependent militarily even with regard to small issues, ” he said.

Largani noted that the West seeks to make Iran an importer of nuclear fuel but the Iranian nation and the negotiators will not accept this.
