Envoy off to Moscow for nuclear talks
ILNA: Director General of Foreign Ministry for Political and International Security Affairs Hamid Baeidinejad departed for Moscow Wednesday morning to hold mutual nuclear negotiations with Russian officials.
The diplomat is to exchange views with Russian officials on nuclear disarmament as well as Tehran - Moscow cooperation in the nuclear talks with the Group ۵ + ۱.
Iran and permanent members of the UN Security Council(US, Britain, Russia, France and China) plus Germany are to resume their nuclear talks early in February.
Next major issue to be discussed in Baeidinejad’s meetings with senior Russian officials includes consultations over the next conference on Non - Proliferation of the Nuclear Weapon as well as other international treaties on prohibition of weapons of mass destruction and pursuing the initiative of changing the Middle East region into a nuclear and weapons of mass destruction - free zone.
The ۲۰۱۵ Review Conference of the Parties to the Treaty on the Non - Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons(NPT) will be held in ۲۰۱۵ at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, USA.
The ninth Review Conference since the first in ۱۹۷۵, the ۲۰۱۵ Review Conference will also mark the ۲۰ - year anniversary of the NPT’s indefinite extension agreed to in ۱۹۹۵.
