ILNA: Iran and the P5 + 1 could reach a final agreement this month over Tehran’s nuclear program if Washington and Tehran show the will, a senior Russian diplomat says.

Iran and the five permanent members of the UN Security Council – Russia, China, Britain, France, the US – plus Germany have never been so close to an agreement and it could be reached by a November ۲۴ deadline, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov, who is in Australia for a meeting of the G۲۰ major and developing economies, told reporters.

" Therefore, from[November] ۱۸ to ۲۴ there is enough time for such decisions to be taken, " he said.

" But there is no guarantee that these decisions will be taken in those capitals where there are the biggest problems with current solutions, I mean, - Washington and Tehran, " he added.

Representatives from Iran and the P۵ + ۱ group wrapped up their latest talks over Iran’s nuclear program in the Omani capital, Muscat, on November ۱۱.

On the top of the agenda of Muscat talks were the extent of Iran’s uranium enrichment and the timetable for the removal of anti - Tehran sanctions.

Sources close to the Iranian negotiating team say the main stumbling block in the way of resolving the Western dispute over Iran’s nuclear program remains to be the removal of all the bans imposed on the country, and not the number of centrifuges or the level of uranium enrichment.

Tehran wants the sanctions entirely lifted while Washington, under pressure from the pro - Israeli lobby, insists that at least the UN - imposed sanctions should remain in place.

On Wednesday, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani expressed Iran’s readiness to take more transparent measures regarding its nuclear energy program based on international regulations and expressed hope Tehran and the P۵ + ۱ would reach a win - win agreement.
