ILNA: Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and his Pakistani counterpart Hanna Rabbani in a meeting in New York underlined the need for finalizing Iran - Pakistan gas pipeline and security of borders.
During the meeting the two sides discussed the lasted developments of the West Asia, Afghanistan and Iran - P۵ + ۱ talks as well as mutual cooperation between the two countries.
The Iranian and Pakistani foreign minister also underlined the need for increasing the trade transactions volume and strengthening cooperation between the two countries’ trade ministries and their interior ministries to increase the security of the borders to prevent drug trafficking, illegal trespassing and activities of the terrorist groups.
Zarif is in New York to take part in the new round of negotiations between Iran and the Group P۵ + ۱(the five permanent members of the UN Security Council comprised of China, France, Russia, Britain, the U. S., plus Germany).
Iranian President Hassan Rouhani is also in New York to attend the annual meeting of the UN General Assembly.
