Iran is regional trade hub: Italian official

Chief Executive Officer of Italian Olivetti S.p.A said here on Saturday that Iran is considered as the regional trade hub.

Talking to IRNA, Riccardo Delleani, who is visiting Iran with the European House-Ambrosetti, said the Olivetti company is keen on exporting its products to the regional countries via Iran.

Thanks to Iran's security in the region, he said the company is planning to foster its mutual cooperation with Iran in the long run.

'If Iran becomes regional trade hub for Italian products, It would create income and job opportunities for the Islamic Republic,' he added.

Delleani said the high-ranking officials of Olivetti S.p.A are keen to foster trade relations with Iran as soon as possible.

Delleani said the Olivetti S.p.A. is an Italian manufacturer of typewriters, computers, tablets, smartphones, printers and other such business products as calculators and fax machines.

Headquartered in Ivrea, province of Turin, the company has been part of the Telecom Italia Group since 2003.

The first edition of the Iran-Italy economic summit organized by the European House-Ambrosetti held in Tehran from May 16 to 17.

Topics on the agenda of the conference included banking systems, insurance, taxation systems, expansion of bilateral relations, infrastructure issues, auto making industry, urban development, energy, commerce, investment, tourism and culture.

The aim of the conference was to broaden ties and cooperation between the two countries.
