Iran, Venezuela sign agreement for banking cooperation

Iran and Venezuela inked an agreement for banking cooperation to boost banking activities between the two countries central banks on Saturday local time.

The document was signed during a meeting participated by visiting Foreign ministers of Iran Mohammad Javad Zarif and President of Venezuela Nicolás Maduro at the presidential palace, Palacio de Miraflores.

The agreement was signed by Hossein Ya’qoubi from Central Bank of Iran and Juses Fernandes of the Central Bank of Venezuela, BANCO CENTRAL DE VENEZUELA.

The agreement will pave the way for facilitating Tehran-Caracas banking relations and their trade and economic cooperation.

A number of ministers and senior officials of Venezuela as well as members of Iran’s visiting economic delegation also participated in the meeting.

Iran’s Foreign Minister arrived in Venezuela on Saturday local time (early Sunday morning in Tehran) at the head of a 120-member politico-economic delegation at the last leg of his tour to six Latin American countries which has so far taken him to Cuba, Nicaragua, Ecuador, Chile and Bolivia respectively.
