Top worker activist called smuggling major reason for worker's unemployment.

Calling "ignorant" those who claim that the wages' share in production are high, "Azizeh Sharifi", worker union activist in an interview with ILNA told: "smuggling is the most significant factor which has harmed production and made thousands of worker unemployed."

According to the worker union activists, in many cases the government’s inadequate support of industry has lead to the flow of smuggled goods and consequently the closed production lines.

Criticizing that short-sightedness has become a permanent criteria for the country’s long term economic policy making, she added that the most clear indication is wage estimation.

"Attacking wages has so far lead to negligence in addressing workers’ living conditions. Hence, during past years, wages have never been proportionate with living costs and expenses" she underlined.

Meantime, top worker union official, hailed achievements in consideration of worker’s living expenses and costs in wage estimation.

"Although such consideration is not completed yet, but we can hope that in the near future, the calculation process would become more appropriate and related to worker’s living" she added.
