Aquaculture Producers Union says, president was able to reverse a backward economy.

Iranian Head of Aquaculture Producers Union, "Arsalan Qassemi", in his interview with ILNA, said: "At the outset of 11th cabinet, economic growth indicators were negative. President "Hassan Rouhani", as such, took a negative economy at the beginning of his government. But latest economic statistics are indicating that economic growth reached 11.6% and GDP growth hit 5.7%. The growth can be contributed to the government’s activities and measures in improving the country’s economy."

He added: "According to the president, agricultural section’s growth is a major factor in rising domestic production. The previous importing trends of wheat is currently reversed by plans of export."

Qassemi also emphasized that the agricultural section’s trade balance is changed positively from negative trends and in fishery sector the country reached positive balances.

"Mainly the achievements can be attributed to regaining markets that we lost in preceding cabinet and attaining traditional markets" he underlined. 

Underscoring the role that JCPOA played in economic section and boosting production in the country, top aquaculture authority emphasized that the derailed economy at the time of previous government is now on the appropriate path of growth.

"Currently the agriculture sector is able to provide 20% of the country’s employment and also is supplying 22% of the GDP’s share" he added.
