President: Knowledge is the base of wealth, power, and national security

Describing knowledge as the base for wealth, power, and national security, President Rouhani said: “Knowledge-based companies link science with life, and culture with economy.

Revolutionary culture means ‘Independence, Freedom, and the Islamic Republic’ said Rouhani in the First Conference on Knowledge-based Economy and Innovation Entrepreneurs.

Dr Rouhani added: “Only knowledge-based management is fruitful; a knowledge-based society can be formed by respecting science and the scientists”.

Noting that the government will set the scene for the knowledge-based companies to boost their activities and enjoy more competition in the region and the world, President added: “Knowledge-based companies can play as forerunners of activating modern technology in the country and compensate the lag in technology”.

“Whenever we used science and knowledge in any area, even in promotion of religion, our words were stronger and more stable” added Rouhani.

Saying that the post-JCPOA environment will be fruitful for research and scholars in the country, President added that if in the past we could not present our technology to the world due to sanctions, today these obstacles have been removed and this lag should be compensated.

He also said that Iran’s success in its historical negotiations with the 6 world powers is indebted to using knowledge and reason. He continued: “If we did not use the best and most intellectual persons in different sections such as political, technical, and economic sections, we would not be successful in the negotiations”.

“From the beginning of the nuclear negotiations, I told the political team that the end of negotiations should be marked with exiting the Chapter VII of the Security Council and lifting of unjust sanction. There is no record in the 70 years of history of the UN, in which 6 resolutions of Chapter VII has been cancelled before being put into action.”

Our condition for foreign cooperation is participation in capital, technology, and export, Rouhani said, adding: “Of course, knowledge-based companies have been able to do great in the sanctions era, and we are witnessing the results of their work”.

Dr Rouhani continued: “Just like how the elite were of a great help in the Sacred Defence era, they are helping in the development of the country and this development should be entirely knowledge-based”.

The goal of the government is serving people and making the country prosperous and we will do our best to support the knowledge-based companies.

He continued: “The message of Karbala is distancing from evil and promoting good in society”
