Araqchi due in Istanbul Today

Deputy Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araqchi will leave Tehran for Istanbul on Sunday for a working visit.

Araqchi, heading a team of experts, will review the agenda of the upcoming summit of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC) which will be held on Thursday and Friday.

The OIC's meeting of experts will be held on Sunday and Monday prior to the main meeting.

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) is an international organization founded in 1969 and it consists of 57 member-states. The organization states that it is 'the collective voice of the Muslim world' and works to 'safeguard and protect the interests of the Muslim world in the spirit of promoting international peace and harmony'.

The OIC has permanent delegations to the United Nations and the European Union.

The official languages of the OIC are Arabic, English, and French.
