South Korea calls for all-out expansion of ties with Iran

Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani conferred with South Korean National Assembly Speaker Chung Ui-hwa here on Tuesday on bilateral ties.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of Eurasia parliament speakers meeting at the presence of Iranian Ambassador to Moscow Mehdi Sanayee.The South Korean National Assembly Speaker said that his country is ready for strategic cooperation with Iran in all areas.

'In this meeting and negotiations which takes place before the imminent and upcoming visit of South Korean President Park Geun-hye to Tehran provides an opportunity to coordinate the two countries' stances to make further use of the broadening of ties,' Chung said.
He said that South Korea is determined to expand its relations with Iran and it is trying to boost trade exchanges.
Larijani, for his part, said that Iran and South Korea have close relations and they should try to strengthen their mutual cooperation.
'South Korea is an important country in Asia; for many years the two countries have had extensive cooperation and now after the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) more opportunities for economic cooperation have been provided,' he added.
