Iranian Foreign Ministry categorically slammed explosion in Turkish Gaziantep City which claimed lives of many people.

Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qassemi extended condolence to families of the victims and Turkish nation and government over the tragedy.

He said that such terrorist actions in a wedding ceremony and killing civilians and innocent people once again show the ill-wishing and inhumane goals of Takfiris.

The move shows that the ominous phenomenon is threatening the international community in obtaining its inhumane moves, he said.

Qassemi said that the moves of Takfiri extremists have targeted peace and stability in the region and the violent phenomenon needs to be seriously dealt with by regional countries.

The death toll from a bomb blast that targeted a wedding ceremony in Turkey’s southeastern Gaziantep Province has risen to 50.

According to Gaziantep Governor Ali Yerlikaya, the “terror attack” took place in the Sahinbey district’s Akdere neighborhood late on Saturday.

Officials had earlier put the number of those killed at 30, with 94 others injured.

A parliamentary deputy from the governing Justice and Development Party (AKP) has said the Daesh Takfiri terrorist group is responsible for the attack.
