Ali Akbar Velayati met Singaporean minister for home affairs

On the third day of his stay in Singapore, visiting Iranian official, Ali Akbar Velayati, met with Singaporean minister for home affairs, and exchanged views on regional issues.

 “Holding conferences like the third South Asian Diaspora Convention (SADC), is positively contributive to the convergence of the Asian countries, and the discussed issues of the event require more planning,” said Ali Akbar Velayati, the Head of the Strategic Research Center of Iran’s Expediency Council, on Tuesday, in his meeting with the Singaporean Minister for Home Affairs, Kasiviswanathan Shanmugam.

The two officials met on the third day of Velayati’s visit to Singapore. Iranian veteran diplomat left Tehran for the south-eastern Asian country on Sunday to attend the third South Asian Diaspora Convention (SADC) and is en route to Malaysian capital city of Kuala Lumpur after his stay in Singapore.

The Singaporean Minister for Home Affairs, in this meeting, voiced his complimentary words welcoming the Iranian official to his country and called for cooperation of the countries of the region and Asia, despite the differences of views, for cooperation in economic areas which would lead to more cooperation in other areas like politics, culture, and society.
