Iranian Intelligence Minister has stressed the need for security for cultural values.

“According to the verses of Quran, faith and devotion would bring blessing and abundance to the society while if the culture of deception and depreciations of values seizes a nation, the society would dissipate” said “Seyed Mahmood Alavi”, Iran’s Intelligence minister in a summit attended by officials of Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance.

Stressing that the Intelligence Ministry is committed to tie cultural values and security together and provide the necessary grounds for culturally valued security, he said: “We, in Intelligence Ministry are looking for a security for our cultural values and not security on cultural values.” . The top security official emphasized that we need security and safety measures that are integrated with contentment and merriment, because it’s only out of an atmosphere of serenity and security, that faith and spirituality grows.

Stating that Islam is not preventing us from having appropriate cultural interactions and dialogue with other countries, the minister also told that we need to learn approaches and techniques from other countries and integrate them with our Islamic values.

Stressing that our revolution was based on freedom of expression and independence, he stated that one of the instances of such freedom in the constitution is the freedom of the media.

"Breaking pens and shutting the mouths on conspiracy excuse is contradictory to our Islamic revolution identity and as such the Intelligence Ministry is responsible to stop the bullets, not to prevent the words." he added.
