Iranian lawmakers on Tuesday discuss second report by Majlis (Parliament) National Security and Foreign Policy Committee on the progress of the nuclear deal implementation as a subject that tops the Parliament's agenda today.

Majlis open session began with the participation of 195 representatives out of the total 290 members and presided by Vice-President Masoud Pezeshkian.

Iran and the major world powers- the US and the UN Security Council permanent members plus Germany- signed the nuclear deal in 2015 known as Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA). Under the agreement Iran accepted to curb its nuclear program in return of sanctions relief.

The report for the second six-month period will represent the progress of JCPOA implementation, Amir Hossein Qazizadeh, a member of the presiding board of the Parliament, said at the beginning of the open session.

The bill of cooperation between Iran and Azerbaijan on plant protection and quarantine, and that of economic cooperation agreement with Slovenia are on the Parliament agenda, the Iranian MP added.
