Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani accused the United States of spreading insecurity in the Middle East.

Addressing a group of Iranians in the south-eastern city of Sirjan on Feb. 1, Rouhani said the US doesn’t want security to be established in the region.

He also repeated former claims by Iranian officials, who say the US is helping the "Islamic State" (IS, ISIL, ISIS) terrorist group.

“No one in Washington should think they can make decision for the Iranian nation,” Rouhani said, adding that Iranians have not forgotten the past US "crimes.”

He further said that no place in the region is safer than Iran.

He added that Iranians achieved this security through unity and support to the armed forces as well as security forces.

Rouhani arrived in Sirjan, Kerman Province, to inaugurate several mining and industrial projects.
