Iran wants to maintain constructive relations with China

ILNA: China has always had good relations with Iran, and even if in the future the sanctions against Iran are canceled, the country will further maintain constructive relations with China, Iran’s Finance and Economic Affairs Minister Ali Tayebnia told Trend Nov. 13.

Tayebnia said Iran has a significant volume of trade turnover with China and India.

“Most of Iran’s trade turnover accounts for these two countries. The volume of trade turnover with China is particularly high, ” the minister said.

China and India’s roles in capital investments in Iran are also high.

“Projects worth at least $۲۰ billion have been developed, ” Tayebnia said, adding that they have already been approved and are being implemented.

“We hope that the future investments will rise by several times, ” he added.

Tayebnia also said Iran is trying to establish trade relations with all countries given their economic opportunities.

“For us, there are no restrictions on cooperation with any country. Our trade relations with China don’t interfere with relations with the West, ” the minister said

China is the most important economic partner of Iran. Over the past seven months(in Iran the year begins on March ۲۱), Iran exported non - oil products worth $۵.۱۷ billion to China, which is ۲۹.۱۷ percent more than in the same period of last year.

In this period, China’s exports to Iran totalled $۷ billion, which is higher than the same figure for the last year by ۵۴ percent.
