Iran petrochemicals exports rise by 7%

ILNA: Iran’s petrochemical products exports showed a 7 - percent increase in terms of value in the first half of the current Iranian calendar year(started on March 21), compared to the same period of the previous year.

Ali Mohammad Bosaaqzadeh, an official with National Petrochemical Company said that Iran’s exports also faced a ۱۴ - percent increase in terms of weight in the mentioned period.

“Iran’s total output in the first half of current year was four percent more than in the previous year, ” he added.

Deputy Director of National Petrochemical Company Hossein Shahriari said on May ۷ that the country is expected to export $۱۴ billion worth of petrochemicals by the end of the current Iranian calendar year(March ۲۰,۲۰۱۵).

“Iran’s total petrochemical production will also reach ۵۱ million metric tons, ” he said, Iran’s SHANA News Agency reported.

The value of Iran’s total output is expected to reach $۳۵ billion.

Iran’s petrochemical exports failed to show a significant increase in recent months despite the fact that Western countries suspended prohibition on the import, purchase or transport of the Islamic Republic’s petrochemical products and related services since January.

Iran’s petrochemical exports surpassed $۱۰.۷۲۳ billion during the last Iranian calendar year(ended on March ۲۰), which indicates an increase by only ۱.۰۱ percent compared to its preceding year, the country’s customs administration reported on April ۷.

The total volume of exported petrochemicals in the last year stood at ۱۴.۵ million metric tons which is even ۴ percent less than its preceding year.
