Iran warns Turkey over desire of military intervention in Syria

ILNA: Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a seminar on Iraq and the International coalition against Daesh terrorist group which was held at Tehran - based Center for Strategic research on the Middle East, Amir - Abdollahian said regional talks are underway over the humanitarian crisis in the Syrian Kurdish border town of Kobani.

" In preliminary talks with Turkey we found out that the Turkish government is not after exacerbating the crisis in the region and we hope Turkey will play a positive role, " Amir - Abdollahian said.

Amir - Abdollahian said Iran will take every necessary action in the context of its assistance to the Syrian government in the fight against terrorism helping the Kurds in Kobani.

However, he did not specify what kind of assistance Iran will provide to Syria.

" Our talks with our friendly nation, Turkey, are underway, " he said.

" We think the Turkish government would work effectively to repatriate the Syrian refugees. "

On the possibility of Iraq’s breakup, he said: " We have announced our stand in this regard and the Islamic Republic of Iran believes that a nified Iraq benefits the interests of the region. "
