Iran’s Ayatollah Janatti elected as Assembly of Experts head

Ayatollah Ahmad Janatti elected as Head of Assembly of Experts of the Islamic Republic of Iran, winning majority of the votes.
“Ayatollah Ahmad Jannati became nominee for leadership of the assembly in the first session of the 5th assembly. He won 51 votes and was elected as head of the Assembly of Experts,” said Hashem Bathai, a member of the assembly.
Ayatollah Amini and Ayatollah Hashemi Shahroudi, other candidates of for leadership of the assembly, respectively won 21 and 13 votes. There was also one abstention.
