Iran’s Foreign Ministry has summoned French Ambassador to Tehran François Sénémaud after Paris hosted a rally by the Mujahedin Khalq Organization (MKO) terrorist group.

Director General for the Iranian Foreign Ministry's Western Europe Department Abolqasem Delfi on Tuesday delivered the Islamic Republic’s strong protest over the MKO’s annual event in Paris.

The holding of this gathering by those whose hands are stained with the blood of the Iranian people and its orchestration by the father and founder of terrorist groups such as Taliban, al-Qaeda and Daesh and the Zionists’ ally and the delivery of a lowly speech by them against the Islamic Republic of Iran inside the French soil are unacceptable,” Delfi said.

He added that permitting the officials of other countries to propagate against and insult a third country is a violation of the principles of the international law and is globally condemned and unacceptable.

The Iranian official further called for an official stance by the French government on the MKO terrorist group and anti-Iran comments made in Paris by the creators and supporters of Takfiri terrorists and anti-human groups.

Sénémaud said the French government has no ties with and does not recognize the MKO terrorist group and added that he would inform his country’s officials of Iran’s protest as soon as possible.

Paris on Saturday hosted an annual meeting organized by the MKO terrorist group which was attended by former Saudi intelligence chief, Prince Turki al-Faisal. The former Saudi spy chief gave a 30-minute address to the gathering.

On Tuesday, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif criticized Faisal for taking part in the MKO rally and said that the former Saudi intelligence chief and his ilk face a fate similar to that of the former Iraqi dictator, Saddam Hussein.

“He [Faisal] has created both al-Qaeda and Taliban and played a very disgraceful role in the past record of Al Saud regime,” he said.

The MKO is the most hated terrorist group among the Iranians because of its dark history of assassinations and bombings and for siding with the former Iraqi dictator, Saddam Hussein, in his eight-year war against Iran in the 1980s.
