Iran is ready to remove all foreign banks' concerns; Zarif

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif voiced Iran's readiness to remove all foreign banks' concerns in the field of cooperation with Iran by obtaining letter of assurances from the special section of supervising sanctions in the US treasury.

'The international banking restrictions in the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) have been removed and all banks can hold talks with the Iranian sides without any concern,' Zarif said.

He underlined that if those banks that are interested in cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran have concerns about some negative behavior of the US, we are ready to receive a letter for them for the US Treasury's special section for supervising the sanctions.

A conference titled 'review of joint Iran-Chile economic opportunities' opened in Santiago on Thursday with opening speeches by Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and his Chilean counterpart Heraldo Muñoz Valenzuela.

Joint Iran-Chile Economic Conference is the biggest and most important economic conference which is held in Chile by Iran after the victory of the 1979 Islamic Revolution in Iran.

The Iranian and Chilean foreign ministers underlined the need for the expansion of bilateral ties during the conference.

Zarif embarked on a week-long tour of Latin America on Sunday.
