Iran’s Deputy FM for Arab-African Affairs is scheduled to meet with his Russian counterpart Mikhail Bogdanov on Tuesday in Moscow to confer on various regional issues.

Hossein Jaberi Ansari, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab-African Affairs, who left Tehran for Moscow Monday afternoon, will hold a meeting with Mikhail Bogdanov, Russian President Vladimir Putin's Special Envoy for the Middle East and Africa, today to discuss the latest developments in Syria, particularly the events following the nationwide ceasefire, brokered by Russia and the US, that went into effect on Monday and is expected to hold for the next five days.

The two sides will also exchange views on other regional developments and issues of mutual interest.

Iran and Russia, as two countries with a strategy for combating terrorism in Syria and settling the country’s issues through nationwide dialogues under UN supervision and without foreign interference, have been holding regular consultations for ensuring the continuation of this convergence between the two countries.
